The library is located opposite the Fleet Bank and a parking lot within the downtown area of Amherst. The library is just off North Pleasant street (Amherst’s main street).Directions to Amherst - from I-91 going north, get off Exit 19, then make a right turn and over the Calvin Coolidge bridge, which leads onto Rt. 9 (East). Stay straight on Rt.9, until one gets to Amherst’s town common. Take a left at the light and one block down North Pleasant Street, turn left into Amity Street. From here, one will see the library. - Entry Fee
- Advance entry $10, $12 if e-mail or phone entry, $15 at site. Advanced entries must be received by 8/12/2002
- Prizes
- Trophies to the top three in each section Plus medals if you score 3 points and don't win a trophy. Special medals for all Age 5 and under even if they don't win a trophy!
- Registration
- 8:00 to 9:00 AM Entries after 9:30 AM will receive 1/2 point bye or be paired if possible!!
- Round Times
- 9:30 AM. Others on completion of each Board.
New children’s chess event for Western Mass Rated Scholastic Chess Tournament You play all 4 rounds. You may play in a higher age group if you prefer. Age 12 and under will finish early afternoon by 2:30 PM, others by 4 PM. Food and stores are available nearby in the town. Chess Equipment on Sale. E-Mail registration must be at site by 9:00 AM to confirm
