- Cost of the four-day program for Level 1 is $25 (advance registration), Level 2 is $30, Level 3 is $35. Cost of registration at the clinic is $6 more. Registration by E-mail $2 more.
This clinic is for Adults as well as Children age five and up. This course will kick your game up a few notches. All levels of play will be taught, from beginners to advanced. Learning chess helps improve reading, writing, and critical thinking skills. T Classes will be conducted in three group levels! Levels 1, 2, & 3 (Instructors are masters and veteran scholastic teachers.) Chief instructor will be Life Master Maurico Ruiz (2261) Guest lecturer Jacob Rasin (2303) Level 1 Gus the original Bam Guy , CHESS is FUN! Students will get a chance to play and test their newly-acquired skills! If you pick the wrong level it can be changed. You can take more than one level. If you can only attend one or two session cost will be pro rated. SESSION 1 - Level 1: Strong beginner (Student knows the rules, how the pieces move but needs to know how to play the game.) Fundamental tactics; important mating patterns; fundamental endgames; Combinations; How to read and write Chess. Notations; how to SESSION 2 - Level 2: Intermediate (Student is familiar with checkmate, stalemate, en passant, and important squares.) Basic opening theory, advanced tactics, endgame theory, more on how to attack the King. SESSION 3 - Level 3: Advanced (Student plays but needs more knowledge.) Sophisticated opening theory, positional concepts, middlegame planning.
