- 1st, 2nd & 3rd place in each section. 1st place players advance to the Mass State Championship.

Contestants must be enrolled by January 3rd 2009 in any public, private or properly authorized home school of grades K through 12 located in the state of Massachusetts. Enrollment must last through the date of the State Championship Qualifier. The age of the player must be under 20 as of 12/31/08. TIEBREAKS: G/15 Sudden Death Play-off games will be used to break ties. Every time a tie remains the Time Control will be reduced by 5 minutes, bull will be no less than G/3 minutes. PARKING: Enter the campus from Homestead Avenue, and then turn left. Park in Lot E at the bottom of the hill. AWARDS & PHOTOS: After all rounds are finished. Bring the following: Chess set, board, a chess clock if you have one, and a lunch.
