- $13 advance if postmarked by Sept 24th, Paypal by Sept 26th, $18 at site.
- Prizes
- Trophies for top 3 in each division; winner (MA student) in each division is invited to state finals. Ties for 1st place broken by playoff games. Medals awarded to those scoring at least 3 points who do not win a trophy.

On-site registration cut-off at 9:00 AM sharp. Late entrants will be paired in round 2 but NO 1/2 byes. Players playing in any qualification event, or in the state championships, are assumed to be familiar with the intent of 2009 State Championship rules here: www.masschess.org/scholastics/State_Championships/2008-2009_Rules/2008-2009_Rules.asp. Proof of current USCF, MACA membership required for on-site entries. Section eligibility based on age as of Dec 31, 2008. No Smoking. No Computers. Site is Wheelchair-accessible. Bring your own chess set, board, and chess clock (if you have one). Items not proviced at tournament. Chess equipment on sale.
