- $55 if postmarked by 5/25 or online by 5/27, $65 at site. Players under 23 years of age or 60 or older, $30 in advance, $35 on site.
- Prizes
- $3,000 Guaranteed Prize Fund. Most interesting game prizes: Open, $300; U2000 $200; U1800 $150, U1600, $100. Unrated may play in any section but may not win 1st or 2nd prize or title except in Open. State Championship title to highest scoring MA resident or student in each section.

MACA Annual Meeting Sunday 5/30 at 3 PM, Massachusetts Speed Championship Sunday 5/24 at 9 PM. Rules for "most interresting game": Must be a decisive game - prize goes to the winner. One entry per player. Clearly legible score sheet must be submitted by the end of the tournament. Winning games will be published in Chess Horizons. Special "most interesting game" prizes for three day sections include a five DVD set of "Shirov! Best Games" from the "GM Best Game Collection DVD Series" by ChessOnDVD. MACA membership rate changes 5/1: adult $20 (with printed mailed copy of Chess Horizons) or $12 (without), junior $14 (with printed mailed copy of Chess Horizons) or $6 (without).
