- Trophies for top 3 in each division; winning MA student in each 14U, 11U, and 8U qualifies for state championship finals. (ties broken by playoff games). Medals awarded to those scoring at least 3 points who do not win a trophy, or to any player with the same point score as the third-place trophy winner.

- Round 1 at 9:30 AM; other rounds ASAP
On-site registration cut-off is 9:00 AM sharp. Anybody registering after 9:00 will receive a 0-point byte in Round 1, and will be paired in Round 2. There are no 1/2 point byes available. No smoking, no computers, or electronic devices other than USCF-approved scorekeeping devices; site is wheelchair-accessible Section eligibility based on age as of Dec 31, 2011 Bring your own chess set, board, and chess clock (if you have one). Items not provided at tournament. All food consumed in the hotel must be purchased from the hotel. Players who have already qualified may enter in sections for which they are eligible by age.
