- For boys and girls ages 5-16.
Chief instructor will be Life Master Eric J. Godin. Guest lecturer: Senior Master Jacob Rasin Level 1: Strong beginner (Student knows the rules, how the pieces move but needs to know how to play the game.) Fundamental tactics; important mating patterns; fundamental endgames; how to attack the King. GAME. Level 2: Intermediate (Student is familiar with checkmate, stalemate, en passant, and important squares.) Basic opening theory, advanced tactics, endgame theory, more on how to attack the King. Level 3: Advanced (Student plays but needs more knowledge.) Sophisticated opening theory, positional concepts, middlegame planning. If you pick the wrong level it can be changed. You can take more than one level.
