Round Times
Round 1 10AM sharp! , succeeding rounds asap.

Teams in sections K- 6 above should have chess clocks on every board. (Bring your clock.) Teams of only 3-players are OK, but 3-player teams will receive a “loss” on Board 4. Ok to play up to a higher section but not play down. All players must be from SAME school. Each team can have 1 Alternate (has to stay on the same team). Alternate must be identified before the end of Registration (9 AM) and may not be modified after 9 AM. Don't have to have a USCF Rating, but USCF-rated players must be arranged in “rating sequence” according to 04/04 USCF Supplement. Board 1 highest rated player, Board 4 the lowest/unrated player. Provisional Ratings will be used to determine Board-order. Board order must be adjusted so members stay in USCF Rating sequence when Alternate plays. Team must notify the Tournament Director before pairings of the next round are made if they want to use the Alternate. Home-Schooled Children are welcome to form teams if all players live in the same public school district. If permitted by the school principal, home-schooled players may play as part of a school team in the school district where they live. Each team receives a win, loss, or draw for the round. If Team A wins on Boards 1 and 2, loses on Board 3, and draws on Board 4, they get a “1” because they have won the round.
Ties for Awards will be broken by adding the total individual points earned by each board of a team. If two teams remain tied, then USCF tie-breaks will be applied to Boards 1 through 4 until the tie is broken. If a team has 2 or 3 un-rated players, they must play BELOW THE RATED PLAYERS. It’s OK for a team to have 4 un-rated players. Un-rated players must remain in the same Board-order for ALL ROUNDS. When un-rated players register, any rating posted on USCF (www.uschess.org/ratings) may be used by the Tournament Director to determine player line-up. The Tournament Director is the Final Arbiter of whether team members are sequenced to play in the correct board order.
